Renee Marie Clark, age 56, of Belding, passed away at home under hospice care, with her loving family, on Wednesday, October 5, 2016.  She was born on September 1, 1960, in Belding, Michigan, the daughter of Fred Marion and Deloris Marie (Austin) Clark.  She was educated at Belding Area Schools and worked in several capacities during her lifetime, including time spent at Frigidaire, the Belding Party Store, the Shell gas station and operating a day care in her home for several years.  Nearly eleven years ago, she embarked on a new venture when she opened the Bridge Street Café in Belding.  Renee had found her niche in the restaurant.  She loved the patrons, worked hard to make the venture a success and made it a family affair bringing in her children and other family members to become a part of the team at the restaurant.  In her spare time, she enjoyed horseback riding, tubing the flat river, attended live music events whenever she could, and she dearly loved spending time with her grandchildren.

Renee leaves to cherish her memory her dear parents, Fred M. Clark of Belding and Deloris M. Meyers of Belding; her children Amber M. (Allen Flanigan) Carlson, Megon L. (Christopher) Meinke, Brady Badder and Nicholas Badder all of Belding; grandchildren, Owen S. Meinke, Mya L. Meinke and Ava M. Meinke; siblings, Fred N. (Janet) Clark of Belding and Mark S. (Lisa) Clark of Fenwick; and nephews, Fred J. Clark and Matthew S. Clark both of Belding.  She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Charlie and Minnie Clark and Ivan and Zelpha Austin.

Visitation will take place on Friday, October 7, from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. at Verdun Family Funeral Home, 303 S. Bridge Street, Belding.  Renee’s Funeral Service will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 8, at the funeral home with Pastor Ken Harger officiating.  Burial will follow at Orleans Cemetery.  In keeping with her love of live music a band will play at the life celebration luncheon at the V.F.W. after the interment.  Those planning an expression of sympathy are welcome to consider a contribution in Renee’s memory to the Ionia County Animal Shelter.  Envelopes will be available at the services or by contacting the funeral home at (616) 794-1300 or
