Callie Joseph Wireman, age 64, of Orleans, passed away at Mercy Health--St. Mary’s Hospital in Grand Rapids early Wednesday morning, April 20, 2016. He was born in Greenville, Michigan on February 8, 1952, the son of Callie and Veronica Jane (Lyons) Wireman.  Callie attended Greenville, Belding and Saranac Schools and then served his country in the United States Army.  Following his return from the Army, went to work for Extruded Metals and was employed there for nearly 35 years prior to retiring.  Callie was an avid hunter and fisherman, and enjoyed all outdoor activities.  He was also a “tinkerer” and enjoyed making, building and repairing things.  He enjoyed crafts, grew a garden every year, and loved spending time with family and friends.            

 

The memory of Callie will be cherished by his entire family including his dear wife, Dawn Marie Wireman of Orleans; his children, Sharri (Martin) Remley of Kent City, Callie (James) Wireman of Blaine, Minnesota and Connie Williams of Kent City; his grandchildren Laura (Vance) Sorensen, Rebecca (William Craft) Linderman, Samantha (Kyle Little) Bailey, Breanna (Zachary Nash) Williams and Thomas (Laney Muma) Williams; and great grandchildren Joshua, Vance and Malinda with another bundle of joy due soon!; his siblings, Steve (Phyllis) Wireman, Linda (Duane) White, James (Mindy) Wireman and Mark (Kelly) Wireman; and several aunts, uncles, cousins and many great friends.  Callie will also be dearly missed by his dogs, Bose, Debbie and Gus, and the cockatiel, whom only he could pet, Foxie.  Callie was preceded in death by his parents, and three sisters, Nancy Huey, LouAnn Wireman and Connie Wireman.

 

A life celebration gathering and luncheon will take place at 5:00 p.m. on Friday, April 22, 2016 at Verdun Family Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 303 S.
