Ilene Marie (Arntz) Allen, age 86, of Fenwick, passed away peacefully early Sunday Morning, September 28, at Metron of Greenville surrounded by her loving family. Ilene was born on June 14, 1928 in Greenville, the daughter of Perry and Neva (Brown) Arntz, both of whom preceded her in death. She attended Greenville schools and moved to Lakeview after marrying Donald Allen, Sr., who preceded her in death in 1982.

Ilene was a great homemaker and took great pride in her cooking and baking, preparing tempting treats anytime, but especially on Sunday, when she would set aside the day to spend it in her kitchen, with country music playing and the family gathered around. She played piano and stole moments with her grandchildren to teach them some her favorite hymns, including In the Garden and The Old Rugged Cross. She was a proud and determined woman who always loved caring for others. Following the death of her husband she drew upon all of those traits and opened, Allenís Adult Foster Care in Fenwick, which she owned and operated for many years. She treated those residents like her own family and the home cooking and baking became part of their lives too.

Ilene will be remembered by her dear family including her sons Donald (Connie) Allen of Evart and Robert Allen of Fenwick; grandchildren; Marian (Keith) Cooper of Sheridan, Donald Allen III of Sheridan, Justin Evans of Palo, Natasha Allen of Greenville, Josh Evans of Evart, Serena Allen of Greenville, Samantha (Gary) Mitchell of Farwell, Aaron (Bille) Evans of Sheridan and Melinda Evans of Tampa Florida. Her many great grandchildren include Joey, Audri, Tressica, Katrina, Donald IV, Ilene, Tyler, Lindsey, Dylan, Kadie, Gavyn plus 17 step-great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Graveside funeral and committal services will take place at Clear Lake Cemetery, near Fenwick on Wednesday, October 1, at 3:30pm with Russ Hayner officiating. The family will host a luncheon following at Shiloh Community Church.
