Jeanne Rose Marie Hughes, was born on March 22, 1935, in Belding, Michigan the daughter of Fred and Florence (Neveril) Martin, both of whom preceded her in death.  She married Ronald Hughes on May 9, 1959 and he preceded her in death on October 25, 1997.  Jeanne worked at First Security Bank, but her life focus was her family.

On November 26, Thanksgiving Day, Jeanne went to her heavenly home. Her faith was the cornerstone of her life and the base on which she and Ron raised their family. Jeanne lived her life as a true follower of Christ; she visited the lonely and shared with those in need.  St. Joseph Catholic Church was her spiritual home her whole life.

Jeanne loved having her family around her especially at Christmas. Her children: Jeannine  (Anthony) Miami Beach, FL; Mary  (Todd) Delton, MI; Michael  (Yachi) Pahoa, HI; and Jenny  (Mike) Spirit Lake, IA; grandsons Alex, Zak, Christian, Ian (LeAnn),Mason, Devin, granddaughter Helly Rose, and great grandson Sylas relished family gatherings surrounded by her warmth and love.  Her close friend, Tom Kohn, joined these gatherings making them even more special.  She also leaves her brother, Dr. Jack (Jackie) Martin and nephews, Brad & Brian Martin and their families; and brother in-law Jerry Hughes and family; sisters-in-law, Pat Bassarab and family, and Jean Sweet and family, and many, many dear friends.

Jeanne leaves a void in all of our hearts but she is now in heaven with her husband, Ron, and son, Paul, who also preceded her in death.  At the time of her passing, she and Tom were enjoying a tropical vacation in Hawaii with Mike.

Those wishing to express their sympathy through a memorial donation, are welcomed to consider Jeanne’s favorite charities, including St. Joseph Catholic Church, Belding Library, Belding Museum or the Catholic Charities meal site at St. Joseph Catholic Church.
