Richard William “Dick” Wright, age 81, of Belmont, MI, passed away in Zephyrhills, Florida, on March 2, 2016. He was born September 2, 1934 in Greenville, Michigan, the son of Russell W. and Esther May (McConnell) Wright. After graduating from Belding High School, Dick embarked on a career with the United States Navy. He served his country well and retired with more than twenty years of service. He then built a second career working with Amway Corporation in their International Communications department. Following retirement from Amway, he enjoyed summers in Belmont, Michigan and winters in San Antonio, Florida.


His parents, his sister Geraldine Hall, and brothers David Wright and Ronald Lincoln preceded Dick in death. He leaves behind and will be deeply missed by his nephew Russell (Lorrie) Hall, their children, Amy (Nick) Rettinger and John Hall and two great-grand nieces, Chloe and Emma. He also leaves behind brother Michael Lincoln, nephew Keith Lincoln, niece Elizabeth Gahagan, special friends Todd and Spencer Boeske and Lace Williams.


The family will greet visitors from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. and a Memorial Service will take place, at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 23, 2016, at Verdun Family Funeral Home, 303 S. Bridge Street, Belding, officiated by Pastor Byron Davey. Graveside Committal prayers with Military Honors, provided by the joint honor guard of the Belding VFW and American Legion, will follow at River Ridge Cemetery, followed by a luncheon in the Community Room at the funeral home.
