Albert Alan Ferrier

Albert Alan Ferrier, age 79, of Stanton, Michigan, passed away on Saturday, February 5, 2022, at Sheffield Manor Nursing Home in Detroit, Michigan. He was born on March 7, 1942, son of Sidney C. and Ruby Lucille (Ells) Ferrier, both of whom preceded him in death. Albert graduated East Lansing High School and then served his country in the United States Marines during the Vietnam War. Upon his return home from the service, he went to work for Motor Wheel Corporation, a division of Good Year Tire Company, and over the years, was promoted to a supervisory level. Following their closure, he returned to school and earned an Associate’s Degree in Criminal Justice from Lansing Community College and then became employed as a guard at Jackson State Prison where he worked for over ten years. He married Doris Jean Heintz on September 24, 1966 and she survives. Albert was a proud member of the Stanton Legion Post for many years and enjoyed outdoor activities including golf and hunting. He was also an avid sports fan and followed the MSU Spartans religiously. He enjoyed spending time with friends to shoot the breeze and drink a cold beer. Albert will be remembered as a character by all who knew him.

In addition to his wife, Doris, Albert is survived by a son, William A. Ferrier, Sr., of Lowell; grandchildren Dora Ferrier of Chattanooga, TN, William A. (Jen) Ferrier, Jr., of Greenville, MI, Robert Ferrier of Muskegon, MI, and Rainbow Yadak of St. Louis, MO; 9 great grandchildren; a sister Marian Thomas. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by siblings Jonathan and Eileen; and a daughter-in-law, Donna B. Ferrier.

Services will take place on Saturday, February 12, 2022, with visitation at 11:00 a.m. and Funeral at 12 Noon at Verdun Family Funeral Home, 303 S. Bridge Street, Belding, Michigan 48809, with Pastor Paul Hulford officiating. Interment with Military Honors will follow at Rest Haven Memory Gardens near Belding.
