David Leroy “Dave” King, age 75 of Belding, passed away early Wednesday, November 15, at Maple Ridge Manor in Lowell surrounded by loving family. Dave was born in Greenville, Michigan, son of Cecil Charles and OrdaMae (Webster) King, both of whom preceded him in death. Dave graduated from Belding High School with the class of 1966. He entered the miliary to serve his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. Upon his return home, he worked as a carpenter with Marr Construction. He and his brother Jim owned their own welding business. Dave became a skilled steel fabricator, working for Spectrum Industries for many years prior to his retirement. Dave was an avid motorcyclist which was a perfect complement with his desire to travel. He loved planning and setting out on his journeys with riding partners or on his own. He visited much of the United States and made at least seven trips out West to see the motorcycle rallies in Sturgis, South Dakota. Dave cared deeply for his family. He also made friends wherever he went. He was a man of faith who loved the Lord. Dave leaves to cherish his memory, his daughters, Kristine (Todd) Parker of Belding, Amy (Michael) Gasper of Saranac, and Paula Shepherd of Orlando, Florida; grandchildren, Kendra, Ryan, Evan, Paige, Drew and Gracie, great- grandchildren; Kristin, Lincoln, Zara, Jack, Elsie, Weston, Wylder, and Easton; a brother Jim (Cindy) King of Belding; nieces and nephews, Steve King, Bethanie Kruger, and Stephanie Ackley; and former sisters-in- laws JoAnn Hinesley of Allegan and Jane French of Cedarville; dear friend Joyce Mann, daughters Mikayla and Linda, all of Belding.
