Delores Rae Latier, age 70, of Belding, passed away at Spectrum Health Rehabilitation and Extended Care in Greenville, Michigan, on Tuesday, November 3, 2020. She was born into life on July 30, 1950, in Detroit, Michigan, the daughter of Lester Samuel and Shirley Elizabeth (Champ) Latier, both of whom preceded her in death. Following high school, she raised her family and worked for several employers including Belding Fruit Storage and Electrolux, from where she retired. While she worked hard, she enjoyed playing hard as well. She traveled around the state over many summers following a band she loved named The Sea Cruisers, and she traveled up to Mackinaw every year for an annual 4th of July pig roast and fireworks party at her brother’s house. She loved celebrating every holiday with family and friends. For a little extra excitement, she once decided to sky dive, so that she could cross it off her bucket list. While closer to home, she was a great cook, made wonderful birthday cakes for the grandkids and whipped up a batch of her famous breadsticks as a special treat. She enjoyed all kind of flowers and plants, playing solitaire and Rummy, and doting on her grandchildren whom she loved so dearly.
Delores leaves her dear family to cherish her memory including her children Rhonda Hamblin of Belding, Alisha (Shannon) Hummel of Belding, Jacob (Tiffany) Wedge of Richland, Michigan, and Jessica (Zack) Chivell of Greenville, Michigan; grandchildren Melanie, Brendan, Emily, Hannah, Colton, Jonah, Abby, Ella and Charlie; a brother Russell “Ted” (Sylvia) Latier of Cheboygan, Michigan; nieces, Cheryl and Sharon and special friend Debbie. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her dear friend, Glen. .
