George Wayne “Gene”, “Tattoo” Spencer

George Wayne “Gene”, “Tattoo” Spencer, age 46, of Lakeview, passed away on December 21, 2018, following a brief stay at Spectrum Health, Butterworth Hospital in Grand Rapids. He was born on July 11, 1972, and is survived by his parents, Carl Benjamin Hineline and Cinda Marie (Spencer) Hineline. Following high school, Gene spent many years self-employed as a Tattoo Artist, creating many of his own designs and artwork, rather than relying on the standard prints available from others. He also enjoyed wood working and was a huge wrestling, NASCAR and Detroit Red Wings fan, watching those sports on television whenever he could.

In addition to his parents and his grandparents, Duane & Myrtle Addis, Gene is survived by his dear friend and life partner, Roxanne Moore of Lakeview; his children, Chrysta (Daniel Vansconis) Martin of Greenville, Samantha (Austin Jewell) Spencer of Belding, Shyann Spencer of Wayland, Dominick Spencer of Lakeview, Josef (Breanna) Royse-Spencer of Ionia and step-daughter, Amanda Cooper of Greenville; grandchildren, Athena, Axel, Robert, Landon with one more bundle of joy expected in August; sisters Shannon Brown and Amanda Brown of White Cloud; his aunt Jeanie, of White Cloud; and several cousins and many dear friends. He was preceded in death by his aunt Joyce.

A Celebration of Life will be at 2:30 pm on Thursday, January 17, 2019 at Sheridan VFW Post, 209 W. Washington, Sheridan, Michigan, 48884. Memorial donations are welcomed to the direction of the family.
