Gwendolyn Marie “Gwen” (Williamson) Bolt was born in 1944 in Elmhurst, IL. She relocated to the Belding, Michigan, area with her family where she graduated from high school in 1962. Gwen had the honor of being Miss Ionia County in 1963.
Gwen went to be with her Heavenly Father on February 6, 2022, and was proceeded in death by her parents Cecil & Mamie Williamson, her brother Daniel Williamson, her sisters Winifred Ater & Diane Williamson as well as her grandson, Jonathan Nozal. Gwen will be greatly missed by her children Angel (Doug) Hull and Shawn Shields, 4 grandchildren and a great-granddaughter, and her two older sisters, Patricia Shuman and Dorothy Williamson.
She worked for 35 years for Terryberry Company before retiring. It was a job she thoroughly enjoyed. Her faith in God led her to serve First Baptist Church of Belding on the church board and by singing in the choir. Gwen had a sharp wit and unique sense of humor and will be fondly remembered by all who knew her. In her spare time, she enjoyed photography, crafts, arts, gardening, music, nature and traveling.
A graveside service will take place on Friday, May 6, 2022, at 11:00 a.m. at Rest Haven Memory Gardens, with Pastor Mike Simmons officiating. In lieu of flowers the family recommends memorial donations be made to the Alzheimer’s Association or the ASPCA, a foundation close to Gwendolyn’s heart.
