James Erwin Malone, age 76, of Belding, formerly of Rockford, passed away on June 6, 2018, at Laurels of Carson City Nursing Home. James was born on September 9, 1941 in Belding, Michigan the son of Paul Erwin and Doris Donna (Kelly) Malone, both of whom preceded him in death. He attended Rockford High School and proudly served his country in the U.S. Army Reserves. He married Donna Stickney at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Parnell and she preceded him in death in 2002. James was a long-time member of both the V.F.W. and the American Legion.
James’ survivors include his daughters, Susan Malone and Lorrie Ercio; grandchildren Bethany and Jason; brothers Timothy (Nancy) Malone, and Steve (Sheri) Malone; a sister-in-law, Patsy Malone; and several nieces nephews, cousins and friends. In addition to his parents, and wife, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Michele Shira, and a brother, Philip Malone.
A Graveside Service including Military Honors will take place at New Bostwick Lake Cemetery (Cannon Township) at 11:00 AM, on Wednesday, June 20, 2018 with Deacon Dan Schneider officiating.
