Jeanne Marie (Vanderstelt) Ostrander, age 71, of Norton Shores, went home to her Lord and Savior on Thursday, December 30, 2021. She was born in Muskegon, Michigan, on December 15, 1950, daughter of Cornelius and Wilhelmina Maria (Teuling) Vanderstelt, both of whom preceded her in death. Jeanne loved reading and spent hours every night reading fiction, but also books on history and religion. She helped start and run her church library and ran a women’s book club. She loved tennis and if she wasn’t reading, she was in her room rooting for Roger Federer. Jeanne also loved to travel and took numerous trips with friends and family all over the U.S. She was an artist and enjoyed painting when she was younger and crafting in her later years. She loved singing in her church choir and helping put on Christmas and Easter shows. She lived her faith by volunteering for International Aid, packing surgical supplies for doctors doing work in other countries. Jeanne had a strong moral compass, and always tried her best to do what was right. She expressed her love to her family and grandchildren through her creativity by making them things and putting together scrapbooks of them and their achievements. She was a faithful member of Grace Assembly of God and will be missed by all who knew her.
She leaves a loving family to cherish her memory including her devoted husband, Robert Allen Ostrander, Jr. of Norton Shores; her son, Chris (Anne) Ostrander of Grand Rapids; grandchildren Graydon, Nora and Colin; a stepdaughter Shauna Johnson of Maine; step-grandchildren Brenyn, Aidan, Ciaran and Rowan; a step great grandchild, Dana Jayson Johnson; a sister Barb Vanderstelt and several other family members and friends.
