John Theodore Arnouts

John Theodore Arnouts, age 68, of Norton Shores, Michigan, went to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Wednesday, May 27, 2020.

John was born July 21, 1951, to Herman and Lois Arnouts of Muskegon, Michigan. He graduated from Orchard View High School in 1969 and made a successful living in sales throughout the Midwest. He married the love of his life, Carole Jersey, on September 25, 1971. They welcomed their first son, John Casey Arnouts in 1972 and their second son, David John Arnouts in 1984. He was a member of Grace Assembly of God of Fruitport, where his eldest son is the Pastor.

John was an avid outdoor enthusiast and enjoyed hunting and fishing with his family. His proudest role and greatest enjoyment was being ‘Papa’ to his five granddaughters: Katy, Becca, Grace, Emma and Olivia.

John is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Carole Arnouts, two sons, Casey (Tammy) Arnouts and David (Ashley) Arnouts; granddaughters, Katy, Becca, Grace, Emma and Olivia Arnouts; siblings, Barb Peterson and Jim Arnouts; “daughter” Monica Shirley; and several close friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Herman and Lois Arnouts; and brother, Lloyd Arnouts. A private family graveside service will take place at Norton Cemetery. Friends and family are welcome to gather at a Memorial Service to be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 4, 2020, at Grace Assembly of God, 2956 E. Pontaluna Road, Fruitport, Michigan 49415. Visitation, held in accordance with CDC facial coverings and social distancing guidelines in effect at the time, will be held at the church for an hour prior to the service, beginning at 1:00 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, Carole asks that memorial contributions be made to Grace Assembly of God.
