Jon Dana Balk

Jon Dana Balk, age 64, of Belding, passed away unexpectedly at home on Sunday, July 18, 2021, at home in Belding. He was born on November 27, 1956, a son of William Louis and Elizabeth Jean ( Fritz ) Balk, both of whom preceded him in death. Jon attended Grand Rapids area schools and worked for many years as a machinist in manufacturing companies. He has lived in the Belding area for much of his life, but did move to Florida for nearly six years, returning in 2018. He married Carol A. Cory at home in Belding on November 30, 2019, and she survives. Jon enjoyed playing guitar and collecting music albums – the good old stuff from the 1950’s, both rock and country, and he also enjoyed building model cars, back when he was still able.

In addition to his dear wife, Carol, he is survived by several nieces and nephews and a brother-in-law, Warren Cazier. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his only child, Jon D. Balk II, several siblings and a sister-in-law.

A celebration of Life Gathering and Service will take place on Wednesday, July 28, 2021, at 11:00 AM at Family Life Center Church of God, 8683 Storey Road, Belding, Michigan 48809, with pastor William Overton officiating.
