Joyce L. Smith

Joyce L. (Hendershott) Smith, age 83, of Greenville, formerly of Belmont and Lowell, passed away on Wednesday, June 3, at Spectrum Health United Memorial Hospital in Greenville. She was born in Lansing, Michigan, the daughter of Harold and Beatrice (Jacobs) Hendershott, both of whom preceded her in death. She graduated from Lansing Schools and continued her education, earning a nursing degree. She worked in patient care in hospital settings for many years. She married Charles L. “Chuck” Smith on September 18, 1958 and shared 58 years of marriage with him prior to his death in 2012.

Joyce leaves a niece, Carol ( Dan ) Simon of Lyons, Michigan to cherish her memory. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a son, David Smith.
