Linda L. Loper

October 4, 1947 — December 24, 2024

Belding, Michigan

Linda Lou (Hall) Loper, age 77, of Belding, passed away in the early morning hours of Monday, December 24, 2024, under the tender loving care of her family and hospice. Linda was born on October 4, 1947, daughter of Carol Kenneth and Florence Jean (Spencer) Hall, both of whom preceded her in death. Linda graduated from Belding High School with the Class of 1965, and married the love of her life, Lloyd J. Loper, Jr., who survives. They exchanged vows on February 4, 1966, at the United Methodist Church in Belding and have shared 58 years of marriage. Linda worked for many years as a cashier at Meijer retiring in the early 2000’s to enjoy more time doing what she enjoyed which included scrapbooking, sewing and crocheting. Her main focus, though, was always her home and family, especially her granddaughters who she dedicated a lot of her time to as they grew up, and her mother who she looked after for many years. Linda never missed Sunday service each week at the Belding United Methodist Church where she was a member throughout her life.

Countless precious memories of Linda will be cherished by her family and friends including her devoted husband, Lloyd, her daughters, Amy Lynn (Brad) Pethers of Sheridan and Sherry Jo (Jeff) Hackbart of Sheridan; grandchildren, Chandra Jo Mason of Sheridan, Demi Lynn (Alex) Watts of Greenville, and Cassandra (Aaron) Majetich of Ohio; and great grandchildren Avery Mason, Ember Mason, Asher Watts, Dawson Watts, Elliette Majetich, and Beckett Majetich; a sister Mary Jean Conley of Ionia; and several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Spencer Hall and a brother-in-law, Floyd Conley.

Linda’s family will observe a private remembrance of her life and legacy over the days ahead and cremation rites are being accorded. Those wishing to express sympathy are welcome to consider a memorial contribution in Linda’s memory to the Belding Veterans Park.
