Marian G. Hagerman

Marian Gladys (Minaker) Hagerman, age 84, of Ionia, passed away on Sunday, July 31, 2022, at home, under hospice care, surrounded by family who loved and cared for her. She was born on July 29, 1938, in Ionia, Michigan, daughter of Anthony Bruce and Bernadine (McCuster) Minaker, both of whom preceded her in death. She attended Ionia Schools and worked in several capacities during her lifetime, including in the Environmental Services Department and Michigan State University, as well as at a local farmers market and a very popular local fish fry at the Eagles Club. Marian married Keith A. Hagerman in Carson City and he preceded her in death in 1990. She enjoyed country music and spending time with her dear family and friends. Marians strongest passion was playing B.I.N.G.O. and she enjoyed a trip to the casino whenever she could.

Marian leaves her dear daughters to cherish her memory, Karen S. Hagerman-Newcombe, Tamara Hagerman and Carol Hagerman-Sturm all of Ionia; grandchildren Marty (Mike) Newcombe of Arizona, Eric (Kaitlyn) Newcombe of Ionia, Jason (Tiffany) Hagerman of Hastings and Holly (Kevin) Biggs of Ionia; great grandchildren Caleb, Savannah, Hayden, Teagan, Evan, Preston, Parker and Julian; a sister, Lois Lund of Crystal; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. In addition to her parents and spouse, she was preceded in death by grandchildren Brandon Newcombe and Amy Kay Newcombe; and siblings Ella May Dunham, Roberta Minaker, Betty Delinsky, Elmer Minaker, June Gatcher, Jacqueline Deveroux, Bonnie Thomas, Chuck Minaker, William Minaker, Jim Minaker, and Bobby Minaker.

A Life Celebration gathering will take place on Friday, August 5, 2022, at the Ionia Moose Lodge, 869 E. Lincoln Avenue, Ionia, Michigan 48846. The family will greet visitors beginning at 1:00 p.m. with a service to begin at 2:00 p.m., with Pastor Chuck Jenson officiating, followed by a luncheon. Interment will take place next to her husband, Keith in Balcom Cemetery. Memorial contributions are recommended to the wishes of the family.
