Patricia A. "Patsy" Byrne

Patricia Arlene “Patsy” Byrne, age 77, of Belding, passed away unexpectedly at home on March 1, 2021. She was born on April 28, 1943, in Grand Rapids, Michigan, the daughter of Russell N. and Doris E. (Clark) Jourdan, both of whom preceded her in death. She attended Belding High School and worked in health care for many years. She was a caregiver by nature and served countless patients as a Nurses Aid and, also managed adult foster care homes where she could tend to the full range of her client’s needs. Patsy cared for and loved her family and friends too, but was especially close to Jesus, whom she adored. She was bubbly, full of energy and had a zest for life that showed in all she did. Some of her pastimes included listening to Elvis music, on-line gaming and watching her favorite television series, “Heartland”, which she binge-watched several times through. One of the highlights of her life was a 2009, trip to Italy during which she visited the Vatican. In her later years, her love for grandchildren kept her spirits and energy high.

The memory of Patsy will be cherished by her dear family including her children, Michael (Mandy Hyrns) Blair of Coral, Anthony Blair of Belding, Teresa (Don) Wackus of Jackson and Sherry (Troy) Cassel of Jackson; grandchildren Amanda (Joe) Abbott, Ethen Winright of Jackson, Zach (LeAnn) Winright of Jackson and Benjamin Hyrns of Coral; great grandchildren Kira Abbott, Trenten Abbott and Colton Winright; siblings Kathy (Jim) Burleson and Jeff (Gayla) Jourdan; and several, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. In addition to her parents, Patsy was preceded in death by a sister, Michelle Jourdan and a brother, Steven Jourdan.

Visitation and funeral services will take place Friday, March 5, 2021, at Jesus, Non-Denominational Church, 9206 Peck Road, Greenville, Michigan 48838, with Pastor Tommy Turner, Jr., officiating. Visitation will begin at 2:00 p.m. and the Funeral will begin at 3:00 p.m. Those wishing to express their sympathy are welcomed to consider a memorial contribution in Patricia’s memory to the wishes of the family. A graveside Committal Service will take place on Wednesday, April 28, 2021, at 4:00 PM.
