Patrick Michael Prosser, age 59, of Orleans, passed away unexpectedly at home on Wednesday evening, August 28, 2019. He was born in Flint, Michigan on June 13, 1960, the son of David "Jerry" and Marilyn Jean (Mikesell) Prosser, both of whom preceded him in death. Patrick graduated from Flushing High School in 1978 and worked for a beverage distributor handling a delivery route. His family spent summers at Long Lake near Orleans while he was growing up and his parents eventually retired there full time. He loved lake living and the area in general, so it made sense that he would pursue his dream of business ownership in the area. He moved to Long Lake and bought the former Pink Panther in Sheridan and reopened it as the Hog's Head Saloon, which he owned and operated for over 30 years. He married the love of his life, Valerie Marie Burgess, in Fenwick on August 28, 1999, and was observing their 20th wedding anniversary on the day he passed away. Pat and Valerie had three sons and kept busy throughout most of the year attending sporting events for the boys and their friends and cheering them on. In the summer, he spent as much time as possible near the water and on the boat. Pat was a member of the Greenville Eagles Club and enjoyed making new friends there and everywhere else he happened to visit.
Patrick leaves to cherish his memory, his dear wife, Valerie, his three sons, Jared, Kyle, and Luke; siblings, David Prosser of Flushing, Beth Prosser of Flushing, and Scott (Laurie Schuppert) Prosser of Six Lakes; his father-in-law and mother-in-law Russell and Carol Burgess of Stanton, his sister-in-law Kaylee Burgess of Grand Rapids; and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and many friends. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister-in-law, Susan Prosser.
