Paul Lee Goza, age 70, of Ionia, passed away at home surrounded by his loving family on Monday, December 13, 2021. He was born in Brownfield, Texas on April 1, 1951, son of Jack Keith and LaVada Marie (Barnes) Goza. Paul graduated from Livingston High School and worked as a self-employed carpenter for much of his life. Paul lived in several states throughout his lifetime prior to moving to Michigan in 2004 after meeting his wife Barbara K. Hatinger. Paul and Barbara were married on August 11, 2011, when they traveled to Las Vegas to tie the knot. He enjoyed several outdoor activities including hunting, fishing and surveying the property while riding his Ranger. Paul could fix almost anything, especially tools and equipment. He loved buying, fixing and reselling items, and he was great at it! Paul was an exceptional cook who had a passion for cooking for his friends and family. Paul will be missed by all his family and friends and his dear dogs, Mister Gozer and Max, who were by his side throughout his illness.

Paul leaves to cherish his memory, his dear wife of 11 years, Barbara, his children,
Tricia (Heath) Hardman, Terese (Derrick) Goza, Kristi (Tom) Ray, Matt (Chelsie) Reed and Beth (Robert) Johnson; grandchildren Jared, Josh, Kiana, Kayli, Madison, TJ, Kristian, Dagen, Maycee, Levi, Mylee, Weston, Remington, Barrett, Robert and Gloria; 4 great grandchildren; siblings Vonnie Marie Cope, Debra Jean Moore and Willie Lee Threet, Jr.; and several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, and siblings, Johnny Wayne Goza, Joe Keith Goza and Sherrie Lynn Brumfield.

Paul’s family is planning private memorial observances. Those considering an expression of sympathy are welcomed to consider a memorial contribution in Paul’s memory to the wishes of the family.
