Phyllis Louise (Vaughn) Wireman, age 60, of Ionia, passed away at home on Tuesday evening, February 27, under hospice care surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Greenville, Michigan, on February 16, 1964, daughter of Duane Clinger and Betty Jean Vaughn. Following her education at Belding Area Schools she entered the workforce and pursued a couple successful career paths. She worked for several years as an upholsterer at a furniture manufacturer in Belding, taking great pride in her work, and pridefully pointed out pieces that she had made at local restaurants and businesses. She also worked for a number of years at Meridian Bumper making car parts. Throughout her life it was not uncommon for her to have one main and a part time job or two, so she could provide for her family. As busy as she kept herself with work, she also carved out time for hobbies including sewing, crocheting, making crafts of all types, and coupon clipping. She also loved horseback riding and would go fishing anytime anyone asked or the spirit moved her to go. Phyllis was a faith-filled person who lived her life as an example to others and cared deeply for her family.
Phyllis’ family will cherished their memories of her including her dear, husband, Steven Wireman, of Ionia, whom she exchanged vows with on April 21, 2007; her father, Duane (Joann) Clinger of Coral, Michigan; her children, Steven J. Dean, Jr., of Belding, Angel (Sam) Castillo of Belding, and Carolyn J. Shupe of Greenville; step-daughters Rae (Dave) Fortier of Greenville and Sadie Wireman of Grand Rapids; grandchildren Lucas, Caden, Jasmine, Chase, Oasis, Fanshawn, Gracen, Alex, Aaron, Natalie, Matthew, Aaliyah, Abby and Caleb; great grandchildren, Viola, Ocxtyn, Dakota, Lucas, and Zoey; siblings Alvin Vaughn of Pottersville, and Patty Hill, Cathy (Rod) Phillips and Linda Anderson all of Belding; and several half siblings, brothers- and sisters-in-law, and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. She was preceded in death by her mother, Betty Vaughn and a brother, Tommy Clinger.
