Robert M. McInnis

Robert M. “Bob” McInnis, age 83, of Reed City, Michigan, passed away on December 31, 2023, at Mecoela Currie Comfort House under hospice care in Reed City following a brief stay there.  He was born on January 20, 1940, at the family home in Reed City, son of James Kenneth and Golda Edith (Morris) McInnis, both of whom preceded him in death. He attended Reed City Schools and transferred to Plainwell Schools for his senior year, graduating with the Class of 1958.  He spent much of his working years at Evart Products working assembly and machine operation positions and retired from there.  His mechanical skills followed him into retirement as he loved to spend time in the garage, maintaining and repairing his equipment. He felt it was better to fix what you had than to buy new.  In his younger days he loved to hunt and was a long-term member of First Baptist Church of Reed City.    

Bob leaves his dear family to cherish his memory including his loving wife of 62 years, Alberta Kay (Rolston) McInnis, his children, Mary (Mike) Knuth of Paris, Michigan, Robert (Rose) McInnis of Reed City, Jeff (Doug) McInnis of Belding, Michigan, and Beth (Bill) Stoner of Kent City, Michigan; grandchildren, Amber (Jason), Jeremy (Kyleen), Jayson (Ruby), Jackie (Sal), Brandon (Becca), and Megan (Scott); great grandchildren, Alyson, Emily, Evan, Brooklyn, Owen, Evelyn and Isla; and a brother Jerry (Mary) McInnis.  In addition to his parents, Bob was preceded in death by three sisters, Shirley, Roma and Nancy. 

Services will take place on Thursday, January 4, 2024, at Verdun Family Funeral Home, 303 S. Bridge Street, Belding, Michigan 48809.  The family will greet visitors at the funeral home from 12 Noon until 4:00 p.m. and a Scripture Service with Committal Prayer will take place beginning at 2:00 p.m. Refreshments will be available. Private Interment Rites will take place at Woodland Cemetery, Reed City, Michigan.
