Sheryle L. Rowland

Sheryle Lynn (Lafferty) Rowland, age 62, of Belding, passed away at Corewell Health, Butterworth Hospital on January 5, 2024, surrounded by her loving family, following a brief illness, under hospice care. She was born on May 2, 1961, in Carson City, daughter of Calvin and Patsy (Jeffery) Lafferty. Sheryle graduated from Belding High School with the Class of 1979 and continued her education in nursing.  She worked for many years as a Certified Nursing Assistant, having cared for patients at Belding Christian Nursing Home (now Mission Point), and Corewell Health, Long Term Care in Greenville.  She also worked for several years serving customers at Wesco in Belding, having recently retired.  She married the love of her life, Daniel L. Rowland, shortly after completing high school and shared 42 years of marriage with him. Sheryle enjoyed gardening and any outdoor activity, especially camping and hiking. She loved to travel and recently completed a trip to South Dakota with Dan, during which, she did most of the driving while pulling the camper. She loved her children and adored her grandchildren and looked forward to taking as many of them as possible on their many trips to Blind Sucker Campground in the Upper Peninsula. She will be dearly missed by the whole family and her many friends.          

Sheryle leaves to cherish her memory, her beloved husband, Daniel; her mother, Patsy Lafferty; her children, Lora (Al) Dexter, Daniel II (Keri) Rowland, and Randy (Amy) Rowland all of Lakeview, Darien (Bevin) Rowland, Kyle (Cristina) Rowland, and Jason (Jessica) Rowland all of Belding; 24 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren; siblings, Mike (Barb) Lafferty of Orleans, Kevin (Judy) Lafferty of Gowen and Michell Ely of Rockford; and several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.  She was preceded in death by her father, Calvin A. Lafferty and a brother, Garrett Lafferty.  

Sheryle’s family will host a Memorial Visitation at Verdun Family Funeral Home, 303 S. Bridge Street, Belding, MI, on Saturday, January 13, 2024, from 10:00 a.m. to 12 Noon followed by a luncheon. Those wishing to express sympathy are welcome to consider a contribution in Sheryle’s memory to Corewell Health Hospice.
