Susan Jo Woods-Sopscak

Susan Jo Woods-Sopscak, age 64, of Charlotte, formerly of Prudenville, passed away at home under hospice care surrounded by her loving family on Sunday, March 8, 2020, following a long illness. She was born in Lansing, Michigan, on June 28, 1955, the daughter of Gerald and Grace Annabelle (Phinney) Stardevant, both of whom preceded her in death. Following graduation from Harry Hill High School in Lansing, she worked in several capacities, including many years as a Nail Technician at a beauty salon. She loved the outdoors and spending time “up north”. A perfect day for her would be spent two-tracking on the four-wheelers, followed by some fishing and ending it up with a nice campfire surrounded by friends and family enjoying a drink and each other’s company.

Susan will be dearly missed by her son, Jamie Stardevant; grandchildren, Mariena Bennett, Jamie Ray Stardevant and Dillion Saunders; 13 great grandchildren; her dear sisters, Vicky DeRosia of Charlotte, Diana Weaver of Charlotte, Judith Stardevant of Kalkaska and Connie Johnson of West Branch; a long term companion and friend, Lance LeTourneau whom she loved dearly; and several loving nieces and nephews, cousins and a large group of friends all of whom had a special place in her heart. She also loved and cherished, Yoda, a Yorkie Terrier, who was her loyal companion and faithful friend for many years, who unfortunately passed away just over six month’s ago.

A gathering for family and friends to remember and celebrate Susan’s life is being planned for Saturday, May 2, 2020, from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at Houghton Lake Moose Lodge #1616, located at 100 James Road, Houghton Lake, Michigan 48629.
